Canaan Tyree poured in a game-high 20 points while Daniel Etokwudo displayed some fireworks with his slam dunks during Oneida Baptist’s 78-25 win over Red Bird during first round action of the 49th District Tournament.
The 55-point victory advances the Mountaineers (11-20) to a semifinal matchup on Wednesday against defending 13th Region champion North Laurel.
The Jaguars won both games against Oneida Baptist, 105-40, and 95-39, respectively.
Mitchell Madden’s squad came out red-hot against the Cardinals.
The Mountain Lions led 21-6 at the end of the first quarter, and 49-14, at halftime. They outscored Red Bird 16-7 in the third quarter to pass onto their lead.
Etokwudo joined Tyree in double figures with 11 points while Skyler Roberts added 10 points. Jacob Rogers finished with nine points while Tommy Branstetter scored eight points.
