After missing last year’s 13th Region Tournament, the Harlan County Black Bears made sure they wouldn’t miss it two years in a row.
The Black Bears took care of business, and earned their spot in the 13th Region Tournament by upending Middlesboro, 80-35.
Harlan County led 25-12 at the end of the first quarter, and 42-24 at halftime before cruising to the easy win by outscoring the Yellow Jackets, 38-11, in the second half.
Trent Noah led Harlan County with 21 points while Daniel Carmical added 19 points while hitting four 3-pointers. Maddox Huff scored 13 points while Jonah Swanner added 10 points.
Jeremiah Beck led Middlesboro with 11 points while Trey King, and Ashton Osborne each scored six points apiece.
The Black Bears will play the winner of Harlan and Bell County in Friday’s 52nd District Tournament title game.
