It was a historic day on Thursday when Jackson County defeated Barbourville, 13-2.
Sophomore pitcher Candice Williams recorded her 500th strikeout as a Lady General while leading Jackson County to the 11-run win.
Coach Gary Tillery stated, “It is a great accomplishment for her and that she has worked extremely hard to become the best pitcher that she can be.”
Williams is also the record holder for most total strikeouts by a softball pitcher in Jackson County history. Offensively, the Lady Generals were led by Josie Starcher and Emily Mays. Starcher hit a grand slam and Mays hit a walk off three-run homer.
