Tigers remain red-hot, deliver 9-2 victory over Southwestern

MANCHESTER — Clay County is beginning to hit stride at the right time.
The Tigers won their third game in a row after defeating Southwestern, 9-2, on Thursday.
“Great pitching performance by Ryan Hastings and two big home runs in the first inning by Brandin Crawford and Hayden Crockett to give us some breathing room,” Clay County coach Jason Smith said. “Our defense has to get better but overall we played well.”
Clay County’s scored seven runs in the first inning while tallying a run apiece in the second, and fifth innings to get the win.
Hayden Crockett, and Brandin Crawford each homered in the win.
Crawford went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and one run scored while Hayden Crockett delivered a hit, and a game-high four RBI. Aiden Wagers finished with two hits while Tate Rice, and Tyson Wagers each finished with one home run, and RBI apiece.
Ryan Hastings got the win, allowing six hits and one earned run while striking out six batters in 5 and 1/3 of an inning.
