DIXON LAW OFFICE FASTPITCH TOP 10: Corbin, North Laurel continue to red-hot play

WEEK FOUR RANKINGS

1. Corbin (10-4)

The Lady Redhounds have hit stride. They’re winners of seven straight, and have beaten some very good teams during the stretch. Anela Sanders, Kallie Housley, and Danni Foley are playing really well.

2. North Laurel (16-1)

The Lady Jaguars’ win streak has now reached 10 games. That’s pretty impressive for a team that’s young in a lot of key positions. Katie Sams, Emily and Bella Sizemore along with Saige McClure have really played great. We are really impressed with seventh grader Emma Carl. She’s done well at the plate and pitcher’s circle.

3. South Laurel (8-5)

The Lady Cardinals have cooled down a bit after winning seven straight. They’ve lost three out of their last four games. Really impressed with the way pitcher Kenzie Williams continues to improve.

4. Knox Central (5-6)

The Lady Panthers move up six spots after defeating three teams this week, including Clay County and Whitley County.

5. Clay County (6-4)

The Lady Tigers have dropped three straight after beginning the season with a 6-1 mark.

6. Lynn Camp (8-8)

The Lady Wildcats move up three spots after capturing their second consecutive 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic championship on Saturday. Coach Nikki Hendrix has done a fantastic job with the Lynn Camp Fastpitch program.

7. Whitley County (5-15)

The Lady Colonels’ record might not be the prettiest, but coach Angela Singleton has scheduled a top notch slate that has tested her team. Take away some errors, and Whitley County can play with anyone in the region.

8. Bell County (5-4)

The Lady Bobcats snapped a four-game losing skid after surprising Harlan County with a 3-1 win. This team is hard to figure out, but once thing is for certain, Jada Boateng (.679 batting average), and Mataya Ausmus (.560 batting average) are two solid players.

9. Harlan County (7-8)

The Lady Black Bears are another team that’s hard to figure out. They do possess a 5-3 mark against regional opponents.

10. Pineville (4-4)

The Lady Mountain Lions saw their three-game win streak come an end after falling to Lynn Camp, 11-8, during Saturday’s 13th Region All ‘A’ title game.
