PINEVILLE — Pineville pitcher Rachel Howard pitched a perfect game during Friday’s 1-0 win over Harlan County.
Howard faced 21 batters, and struck out 15 while recording her second straight shutout, and pushing her scoreless inning streak to 15.
The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Mckenzie Laws connected with a run-scoring hit to give her team a 1-0 lead it would never relinquish.
Howard, McKenzie Widener, and Makenna Partin each finished with a hit.
The win improved Pineville to 6-4 while the Lady Black Bears fall to 9-10.
