DIXON LAW OFFICE FASTPITCH TOP 10: Corbin, North Laurel separating themselves from the rest of the region

WEEK SIX RANKINGS

1. Corbin (13-4)

The Lady Redhounds are winners of 10 straight, and the two big reasons why are hitting and pitching. Kallie Housley, and Danni Foley have stepped up their play tremendously the past few weeks.

2. North Laurel (21-1)

The Lady Jaguars own the region’s most wins, and RPI, and have now won 15 games in a row. They’ve had some close calls during the stretch, but have always found a way to get the win.

North Laurel’s hitting is red-hot. The key to the Lady Jaguars’ success is going to come down to pitching, and defense.

3. South Laurel (9-7)

The Lady Cardinals are 2-5 in their last seven games with hopes of getting back on track this week with games against Corbin, Pineville, and Whitley County coming up.

4. Clay County (9-5)

The Lady Tigers move back to the No. 4 spot thanks to some clutch pitching by Abby Bowling.

5. Pineville (6-4)

The Lady Mountain Lions picked up two big wins this past week over Lynn Camp, and Harlan County. Pitcher Rachel Howard hasn’t allowed a run in 15 innings, and tossed a perfect game against the Lady Black Bears.

6. Bell County (9-4)

The Lady Bobcats have reeled off five straight wins since losing to Whitley County, 20-2, on April 12. Mataya Ausmus has been swinging a red-hot bat.

7. Knox Central (5-7)

The Lady Panthers drop a few spots after falling to Harlan County this past week. Knox Central has a key 51st District game coming up against Pineville.

8. Lynn Camp (10-10)

Consecutive losses to Clay County, and Pineville drop the Lady Wildcats a couple of spots.

They do have a chance to move up if they can sweep their doubleheader against Bell County on Monday.

9. Harlan County (9-10)

The Lady Black Bears picked up impressive wins over Knox Central, and Harlan before falling to Pineville.

10. Whitley County (6-17)

The Lady Colonels’ roller coaster of a season continued this past week. When they’re playing mistake-free ball, they’re tough to beat.
