WEEK SEVEN RANKINGS
1. Whitley County (23-3)
The Colonels solidified their spot at No. 1 after beating Corbin twice in consecutive days, 12-5, and 5-1. Whitley County 11-1 during its last 12 games.
2. Corbin (16-8)
The Redhounds snapped a three-game losing skid on Saturday after its win against Wayne County. Even though Corbin is 0-3 against Whitley County this season, you still can’t count the Redhounds out when it comes to repeating as 13th Region champions.
3. North Laurel (14-11)
The Jaguars are winners of three straight, and have seven out of their last eight games. The only regional team that is currently playing better is No. 1 Whitley County.
4. Clay County (12-9-1)
Jason Smith’s Tigers continue to impress. Their only loss this past week was to Southwestern.
5. South Laurel (11-11)
The Cardinals are winners of four of their last five games, and could very well surprise once postseason play begins.
6. Harlan County (13-9)
The Black Bears move up three spots after sweeping a pair of games form Middlesboro last week.
7. Williamsburg (10-12)
The Yellow Jackets needed a win on Saturday against McCreary Central, and they got it. Williamsburg is 3-10 during its last 13 games, but remember six of those losses game against the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5 ranked teams in the region.
8. Knox Central (9-9)
The Panthers picked up two big wins this past week against Barbourville, and Danville. They’ve got a chance to move up in the rankings with games against South Laurel, Harlan County, and Clay County this week.
9. Middlesboro (9-8)
The Yellow Jackets dropped consecutive games to Harlan County this past week.
10. Jackson County (7-11)
The Generals move into the 10th spot after Barbourville’s recent struggles.
