DIXON LAW OFFICE FASTPITCH TOP 10: Lady Redhounds hold on to the top spot once again

WEEK EIGHT RANKINGS

1. Corbin (16-5)

The Lady Redhounds saw their 13-game win streak come to an end this past week, and if all things are a go, and they play No. 2 North Laurel on Monday, the No. 1 ranking will be up for grabs. Corbin has been ranked No. 1 the entire regular season.

2. North Laurel (28-2)

The Lady Jaguars suffered their first lost since March 28 on Saturday while seeing their 21-game win streak come to an end after a 6-2 loss to Perry Central. The Lady Commodores have wins over both North Laurel, and Corbin this season. They defeated the Lady Redhounds, 11-2, back on March 30.

3. South Laurel (14-11)

The Lady Cardinals remain a dangerous team, but continue to look for more consistency. Kenzie Williams has been dominating on the mound lately.

4. Whitley County (12-19)

Angela Singleton’s team is red-hot. They’ve won a season-best four games in a row, and have beaten some quality teams this season — Jackson County (8-6), Bell County (20-2), and Pineville (8-5).

5. Pineville (9-7)

The Lady Mountain Lions are a dangerous team. When Rachel Howard is on, Pineville can beat anyone in the region.

6. Lynn Camp (14-14)

Nikki Hendrix’s squad might be a Class A school, but she won’t hesitate to schedule good teams. I really like how Lynn Camp continues to impress as the season progresses.

7. Bell County (14-6)

The Lady Bobcats have won five games in a row since their doubleheader losses to Lynn Camp back on April 24.

8. Harlan County (13-13)

The Lady Black Bears saw their four-game win streak come to an end, but they played some solid competition this past weekend which will make them better as the season progresses.

9. (tie) Clay County (11-12)

The Lady Tigers are capable of beating many teams in the region, but they’re struggling currently. They’ve lost four straight, and eight of their last 10 games.

9. (tie) Knox Central (6-8)

The Lady Panthers have struggled to put anything together consistently.
