MIDDLESBORO — Top seeded Harlan County didn’t waste any time sealing its spot in next week’s 13th Region Tournament.
The Black Bears (17-11) fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but scored six unanswered runs to knock off Bell County, 6-3.
Will Cassim connected with a home run for Harlan County while going 1-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, and one run scored. Alex Creech, and Samuel Henson each had run-scoring hits apiece while Jonah Swanner went 2-for-3 while scoring twice.
Creech got the win, allowing eight hits, and two earned runs while striking out eight batters.
