Bowling silences Jackson County’s bats during 4-0 Clay County win 

LONDON — Clay County’s Abby Bowling was on top of her game on Monday, pitching a complete game while limiting Jackson County to only three hits, and finishing with 11 strikeouts during the Lady Tigers’ 4-0 win.

The four-run victory advances Clay County (13-14) to Tuesday’s 49th District title matchup with North Laurel while also allowing the Lady Tigers to secure a spot in next week’s 13th Region Tournament.

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Clay County scored two runs while adding two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jackson County pitcher Candice Williams turned in a stellar effort, allowing five hits, and four earned runs while striking out 12 batters.

Clay County’s Emi Reynolds, and Carley Shepherd each had run-scoring hits in the win. Carley Wolfe, and Riley Tuttle also drove in runs for the Lady Tigers.
