Carroll’s three-run homer highlights Middlesboro’s 6-3 win over Harlan

MIDDLESBORO — With his team clinging to a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning against Harlan County, Middlesboro’s Brady Carroll came up with the clutch hit.

He connected with a three-run homer to increase the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 6-2, as Middlesboro eventually wrapped up a 6-3 win over Harlan during Monday’s 52nd District semifinal matchup.

The Yellow Jackets (15-10) will face-off against Harlan County in Tuesday’s 52nd District title game. The two teams have met twice with the Black Bears winning both contests.

Carroll finished the game with two hits, and three RBI while scoring once. Conner Winterberger was 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Connor Amazon also had a hit, and scored once while Chase Adkins scored once.

Carroll got the win on the mound, pitching six innings while allowing five hits, and one earned run. He finished with six Ks. Kameron Wilson got the save by tossing a hitless, and scoreless seventh inning.
