LEXINGTON — Knox Central senior Alex Smith is set to make another deep postseason run in this week’s KHSAA State Tennis Tournament after finishing as 13th Region runner-up in last week’s regionals.
Smith is not the only one participating in the event, as Knox Central’s Trevor Smith, Barbourville’s Sarah Smith, and Clay County’s double duo of Ella Rader and Rachel Davidson will also be participating.
Alex Smith is scheduled to face Covington Catholic’s Brady Hussey at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, while Trevor Smith is slated to play Taylor County’s Simon Walz at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. In girls’ singles action, Sarah Smith will go up against Central Hardin’s Sarah Smith at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, while Rader and Davidson will play against George Rogers Clark’s Cassi Lowe and Madelyn Settles at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
