MCKEE — Jackson County captured its first win of the season, picking up a 3-0 win over Pineville on Tuesday.
Both teams entered the season with high expectations with Pineville taking leads in both the first and second sets, but couldn’t hold on.
The Lady Generals won the first set 25-20, while coming away with a 25-19 win in the second set.
Jackson County pulled away in the third set with a 25-12 victory.
“We definitely have some kinks to workout,” Pineville coach Samantha North said. “We were in the driver’s seat for two sets and let them come back and win. We are working with some young girls and girls who have limited experience and a well-coached and disciplined Jackson County team capitalized on our weaknesses. Communication is a big point of emphasis for us going forward, but we saw flashes of the team we know we want to be.”
