CORBIN — Harlan County captured the team championship during Saturday’s Lynn Camp Invitational.
The Lady Black Bears had three runners finish in the top 15, including Peyton Lunsford, who placed second overall with a time of 22:32.82.
23:12.04 – Lauren Lewis finished in fifth place with a time of 23:12.04 while Presley Hensley finished in sixth place with a time of 23:21.07.
South Laurel had three runners finish in the top 10, which was good enough for a runner-up finish.
The Lady Cardinals were led by Rose Stanko (4th, 23:09.31), Chloe Mastin (7th, 23:29.23), and Ivy Lewis (8th, 23:57.13).
North Laurel’s Sienna Sizemore finished third place (22:51.05), but the Lady Jaguars didn’t have enough runners participate for the team championship.
Andrea Smith finished in 23rd place (27:59.91) for Clay County, who placed third along with Harlan. Both teams had 70 points apiece.
Harper Carmical -finished in 13th place for the Lady Green Dragons with a time of 25:27.14.
Other local teams that competed but didn’t field enough runners to compete for the team title were Knox Central, Lynn Camp, Oneida Baptist, and Williamsburg.
Ryan Fields placed 10th over for Williamsburg with a time of 24:11.00 while Lauren Prewitt turned in a 16th place effort (28:23.79) for Lynn Camp. Kaylee Mills placed 15th with a time of 25:57.78 while Grace Sukplang placed 40th (33:35.96).
