Girls Soccer Top Five

1. South Laurel (18-4-1)

Yes, the 2022 season has already started, and the Lady Cardinals are already an impressive 2-0 after outscoring Harlan County and Pulaski County by a combined score of 14-0. Belle Dotson, Josie Gill, Gracie Hoskins, Noelia Merced, and Ella Rison will play a key role in South Laurel’s success this season along with keeper Tess Little.

2. North Laurel (5-11-1)

The Lady Jaguars look to be South Laurel’s main threat at unseating the Lady Cardinals as region champs.

North Laurel will return a stellar offense with hopes of players such as Mikaela Moore and Makayla Mastin continue their scoring ways on offense.

3. Corbin (6-11)

The Lady Redhounds are a tough one to figure out. They’ll be right in the mix of things when everything is said and done, but they’ve got to pick things up offensively. Olivia Jones, Grace Gibson and Charley Harris look to be Corbin’s Main scoring threats.

4. Whitley County (10-5)

Autumn Sawyer has already picked up where she left off last season by scoring two goals during the Lady Colonels’ 4-2 win over Middlesboro last week. If Whitley County can continue to improve defensively, they are talented enough to put a scare into some of the favorites.

5. Knox Central (12-6)

The Lady Panthers continue to improve and are ready to surprise once again this season. Taylor Payne scored 16 goals last season and will be expected to carry the load this season with the graduation of leading scorers Ivy Partin, and Makenzie Harper.
