Pineville falls to 0-3, suffers seventh straight loss after falling to Bishop Brossart, 36-18

PINEVILLE — The 2023 football season has been a challenging one for Allen Harris’ Pineville Mountain Lions. With a 36-18 loss to Bishop Brossart on Saturday, they now hold a 0-3 record and have suffered seven consecutive losses.
This is the first time since the 2008 season that Pineville has started with a 0-3 record.
Despite their struggles, the Mountain Lions put up a fight and even held the lead in the second half before a late rally by Bishop Brossart.
Bishop Brossart took an 8-0 lead with 3:27 remaining in the first quarter after a one-yard touchdown run by Tyler Holtz.

Landon Robbins responded for the Mountain Lions with a 69-yard touchdown run, cutting Pineville’s deficit to 8-6 with 11:48 left in the first half.
In the second quarter, Bishop Brossart extended their lead to 14-6 with a 16-yard touchdown run.
Pineville managed to score again just before halftime, reducing their deficit to 14-12 as Wyatt Caldwell caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Sawyer Thompson.
Early in the third quarter, Bishop Brossart recorded a safety, increasing its lead to 16-12. Pineville quickly answered with a 69-yard touchdown pass from Deacon Partin to Robbins, giving them an 18-16 edge with 1:24 remaining in the third quarter.
Unfortunately, the Mountain Lion lead was short-lived. Bishop Brossart responded with a 58-yard touchdown run by Cameron Mandel, allowing the Mustangs to regain a 22-18 advantage with 1:01 left in the third quarter. Mandel added two more rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter, securing the victory for Bishop Brossart.
