SOMERSET — North Laurel dropped its second straight game, falling to Somerset Christian on the road Tuesday, 3-0.
The Lady Jaguars never got on track against Somerset Christian, dropping the first set, 25-15, before falling in the second set, 25-15. Somerset Christian cruised to an easy, 25-12, win in the third set.
“Tonight was a tough game against a tough opponent,” North Laurel coach James Hendrix said. “Somerset Christian is a fundamentally solid team with one of the best hitters in the state in Addison Cunnagin. We came into tonight knowing we had our work cut out for us and despite the score, I think we handled it well.
“We played well defensively and hung close in all three sets, but our errors just got the best of us,” he added. “We’re looking forward to this weekend in Sevierville, Tenn. It will be another opportunity to face tough competition and be even more prepared when the postseason arrives.”
North Laurel (5-4) will attempt to get back on track Friday when the Lady Jaguars travel to a Tennessee to participate in the Rocky Top Classic.
