South Laurel girls’ soccer remains unbeaten with 10-0 win over Whitley County

The South Laurel Lady Cardinals soccer team improved to 3-0 on Monday, dominating Whitley County in 49th District play with a 10-0 win.

South Laurel has outscored its opponents, 24-0, during its first three games of the season.

Josie Gill scored a team-best four goals while connecting with one goal from 50-yards out. Ella Rison followed with two goals while Belle Dotson, Morgan Taylor, Gracie Hoskins and Avery Sauer each scored a goal apiece. 

Tess Little continued her dominance at the keeper position, recording her third shutout.

The Lady Cardinals built a 9-0 lead in the first half and wrapped up the win behind Sauer’s goal just five minutes into the second half. 

The loss dropped the Lady Colonels to 2-1 after they had picked up wins over Middlesboro (4-2), and Russell County (7-3).

South Laurel will attempt to improve to 4-0 at home Thursday with a 4 p.m. matchup against Knox Central.

Whitley County is scheduled to be back in action Tuesday at 6 p.m.on the road against Harlan County.
