Pineville puts up a fight before dropping 3-0 decision to Leslie County

It might not have been the result Pineville volleyball coach Sam North wanted but she has to like the direction her Lady Mountain Lion squad is making after playing another tough opponent for the second day in a row.

Pineville (0-0) dropped a 3-0 decision to Leslie County on Tuesday but not before putting up a fight.

The Lady Mountain Lions dropped all three sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-16, but managed to hang tough throughout the contest.

“We decided to test ourselves early in the season against the 54th District champs, and I was super happy with our performance,” North said. “Leslie County has the kind of program we want to be, so to be competitive and push them is exactly what we wanted, even if we didn’t come away with the win. Our sights are set high and we are definitely on the right track.”

The Lady Mountain Lions will be back in action Monday with a road contest against Thomas Walker, Va.
