MONTICELLO — Harlan County’s Tanner Daniels (17:37.30) took home first place honors in the Wayne County Invitational while Corbin placed first overall in the team standings with 41 points.
Daniel’s first place effort helped Harlan County to turn in a second place finish with 81 points while North Laurel (90 points), Southwestern (133 points), and Wayne County (139 points) rounded out the top five. Whitley County (seventh, 176 points), and South Laurel (ninth, 207 points) turned in top 10 efforts.
Barbourville, Clay, and Knox Central also participated in the event but didn’t field enough runners to compete for the team championship.
