LONDON — South Laurel’s losing skid has hit a season-high six games after a disappointing 8-0 loss to Somerset on Tuesday.
The Cardinals (4-8-3) have been shutout two consecutive games while being outscored 22-7 during the six-game stretch.
“We had a tough night, for sure,” South Laurel coach Brooks Cawood said. “We continue to struggle with putting together 80 minutes of play. “Somerset is a great team and all of their goals were nice,” he added. “We just still lack giving our full effort and until we do, we will unfortunately keep seeing frustrating results.”
South Laurel will attempt to get back in the win column Thursday on the road against Estill County.
“We travel to Estill County for our last away match of the season and we’re hoping that we can turn it around and finish the season out strong,” Cawood said.
