LONDON — Many expected the North Laurel Lady Jaguars might have a letdown against crosstown rival South Laurel on Tuesday after getting a huge win against Corbin the day before.
The letdown never happened as the Lady Jaguars won 25-19, 22-25, 25-19, and 25-21.
North Laurel has now won four matches straight against South Laurel. The win improved the Lady Jaguars to one game over .500 at 10-9 while the
Lady Cardinals fell to 9-13.
“It’s always nice to pull out a win against our crosstown rival,” North Laurel is h Janes Hendrix said. “It doesn’t matter what sport, when North and South meet, it could go either way. Fortunately, we were on the right side of that tonight.
“I’m not necessarily pleased with the way we played tonight, but we emptied the tank last night and these girls were flat and tired and it showed,” he added. “All-in-all, we picked up the win, got some team bonding in before the game, and continue to work towards the postseason.”
North Laurel will be back in action Saturday while participating in the First Priority Lady Colonel Volleyball Classic while South Laurel will travel to Allen County-Scottsville on Saturday to play in the Southern KY Slam.
