Grigsby ties 13th Region defensive interception record by picking off four passes during Middlesboro’s 36-0 win over Lynn Camp

MIDDLESBORO — The 40th meeting between Lynn Camp and Middlesboro didn’t go in the Wildcats’ favor.
The Yellow Jackets built a 36-0 lead in the first half, and never looked back to improve to 3-2 overall while capturing their first win of district play.

Middlesboro’s Cayden Grigsby dominated on both sides of the ball, throwing two touchdown passes, running for a touchdown while adding three two-point conversions. On defense, Grigsby finished with four interceptions which also included a pick six. 

His four picks ranks sixth all-time in KHSAA history while tying former Corbin Redhound Ryan Tate’s (2005), and Whitley County’s Darrell Bowman’s (1988) 13th Region record.

Lynn Camp’s struggles continued as Darrell Hendrix’s squad dropped its their consecutive game while being shutout for the first time this season. The Wildcat offense hasn’t scored a touchdown in two games. 
Middlesboro now leads the series, 38-2, and has won 11 games in a row against Lynn Camp.
The Wildcats’ last win over the Yellow Jackets came on August 27, 2005. Before that, the Wildcats’ other lone victory was September 23, 1955.
Lynn Camp is off Friday, and will be back in action Friday, October 6th on the road against Williamsburg.
