Lady Cardinals struggle during stay in SOKY Slam event

SCOTTSVILLE — South Laurel’s volleyball team traveled to western Kentucky to participate in this past weekend’s SOKY Slam at Allen County, and turned in a 1-3 record during their stay.

The Lady Cardinals were hoping to gain some momentum by participating in the tournament but turned in a 1-3 mark.

Their lone win came against Carlisle County (25-16, 25-14) while they suffered setbacks to Allen County-Scottsville (25-15, 28-26), North Hardin Classical (25-20, 25-21), and Grayson County (25-23, 17-25, 8-15).

South Laurel’s record now stands at 10-17 with regular season play winding down. The Lady Cardinals will finish the next two weeks with five out of their final six games at home.

They’ll host Corbin Tuesday, and be back in action again at home against Williamsburg.
