MANCHESTER — Whitley County’s boys’ cross country team took home first place honors in Saturday’s Clay County Invitational after having four runners place in the top 10.
The Colonels led the way with 38 points, as Danny Ellis took home first place honors with a time of 19.38.9. Teammate Joshua Grubb finished second with a time of 20:27.3 while Tanner Logan placed eighth (23:07.3), and Evan Ellis followed in ninth place with a time of 23:28.1.
South Laurel finished second with 57 points as Kyler Whit placed third overall (20:39.7), and teammate Austin White finished fifth (20:45.4).
Jackson County placed fourth with 76 points as Malachi Shannon placed sixth (22:10.9), And teammate Jake Collett followed in 10th place (23:48.0).
Clay County didn’t field enough runners to compete for the team title as Aiden Lovett led the Tigers with an 11th place finish (23:51.5).
