Williamsburg picks up 15th win, set to play Clay County Tuesday

WILLIAMSBURG — Derk Berta’s Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball team improved to 15-14 on the season after picking up an impressive 3-0 win over Jellico, Tenn.

Berta’s squad is starting to hit stride with less than two weeks remaining in regular season play.

Williamsburg won the first set 25-10 before picking up a 25-14 win in the second set. The Lady Yellow Jackets cruised to a 25-22 victory in the third set.

“I was really proud of our JV team tonight,” Berta said. “Carrying over some things we emphasized in practice over to the match tonight. As for the varsity, I was encouraged to see the energy and enthusiasm our girls played with tonight, even our bench energy. Those things impacted the game greatly. Looking forward to another opportunity tomorrow. Go Jackets.”

Williamsburg is scheduled to be back in action Tuesday at home against Clay County.
