WILLIAMSBURG — The streaks continue.
Williamsburg captured its fourth win in a row on Friday after starting 0-2 thanks to an easy 50-0 win over Lynn Camp.
The Yellow Jackets scored early and often, and captured their 29th consecutive district win in a row, including their 20th win in a row over the Wildcats. The last time Lynn Camp defeated Williamsburg was in 2005.
“We scored every drive we had the ball. Our kids played well tonight,” Williamsburg coach Jerry Herron said. “They did a good job of trying to slow the ball down, and our kids hadn’t seen that style of play this season. I give a lot of credit to coach (Darrell) Hendrix.
“Now we will switch our focus to the biggest game of the year for us,” he added. “We will be going to Middlesboro with the district title on the line. It’s a big game for sure.”
Herron’s squad made sure the Wildcats wouldn’t end their losing skid to their rivals on Friday by jumping out to a quick 22-0 edge before leading 38-0 at halftime.
Williamsburg added two more scores in the second half to secure the win.
