Jaguars move on to 13th Region title game with 12-0 shutout win over Barbourville

LONDON — North Laurel didn’t waste any time moving into Monday’s 13th Region title game.

The Jaguars made quick work of Barbourville during Saturday’s 13th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament semifinals and cruised to a 12-0 victory.

“We started the game with 10 men as Barbourville only had 10 men for the game,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “Today’s game went about how I thought it would. The starters got some time in, but we were able to get everyone in for this morning’s game.

“Now we have to refocus on the bigger picture which is going for the region title Monday,” he added. “Barbourville shouldn’t hang their heads, they are a growing program and I wish all the best as they continue to improve and grow their program.”

North Laurel will play the winner of Corbin and Harlan County in the region title game on Monday at 6 p.m.

Jaxon Jacobs scored the Jaguars’ first goal just minutes into the contest, and North Laurel continued to find the back of the net.

Tanner Broyles, Eli Davis, and Seth Miller scored two goals apiece for the Jaguars while Jacobs, Grant Abner, Cooper Getz, Noah Caldwell, Gavin Martin, and Louis Ocampo each scored a goal apiece.

Abner, and Gabe Steely each led the way with two assists while Noah Caldwell, Reilly Stuber, Martin, Jordan McIntyre, and JJ Edwards each finished with one assists apiece.
