LONDON — Just when it looked as if the South Laurel Lady Cardinals were gaining momentum heading into 50th District Tournament play, they dropped their second straight match, this time a 3-0 decision to Rockcastle County on Monday.
Just a week ago, the Lady Cardinals had put together a two-game win streak but with consecutive losses their record drops to 13-20.
South Laurel will have one final chance to regain some momentum before postseason play. The Lady Cardinals will host McCreary Central on Thursday.
Against the Lady Rockets, South Laurel couldn’t get anything going. The Lady Cardinals dropped the first match, 25-17, and the second set, 25-21, before losing the third set, 25-19.
