SOMERSET — Corbin seventh grader Emma Massengill broke the 5K school record during the Southwestern All-Comers Meet by placing second with a time of 20:02.09. She beat the old record of Hannah Morton’s (20:11.84) which was set in 2017.
But that’s not all.
She helped guide Corbin to a first place finish with 26 points, as four Lady Redhound runners placed in the top 10,
Joining Massengil in the top 10 were Hadley Elmore (third, 20:32.21), Jaycee Frye (fifth, 21:0.28), and Hartlee Viars (sixth, 21:23.70).
North Laurel placed third overall with 52 points as freshman Sienna Sizemore finished fourth with a time of 21:08.99 while teammate Haiden Moses finished 10th with a time of 21:45.58.
Clay County placed fourth overall with 91 points as Julia Collins placed 21st with a time of 23:37.77.
