LEXINGTON — The North Laurel Middle School sixth grade Lady Jaguars captured the KBC Middle School Girls’ State Championship on Sunday after defeating both Clay County (semifinals), and then Southwestern in the finals, 44-13.
The Lady Jaguars were led by Tournament MVP Laylee Phillips.
Members of the team are Jaslyn Philpot, Paisley Robinson, Laylee Phillips, Kenzie Lawson, Ella Hubbard, Addy Fields, KK Sutton, Ella Root, Shelby King, Ryse Anne Joyner, Karrington Jervis, and Zoey Hollingsworth. The team is coached by Melissa Caudill and Jared Fields.
