MONTICELLO — Jackson County, Lynn Camp, and Williamsburg each advanced to the KHSAA Class A State Meet after turning in impressive efforts during the Class A, Region 6 meet.
The Generals tallied 62 points while placing first, and the Wildcats finished with 101 points and turned in a runner-up finish. The Yellow Jackets placed fifth with 139 points.
Williamsburg’s Henry Bowling had the highest finish of local teams, placing fourth in a time of 18:35.78. Lynn Camp’s Tate Mills finished in fifth place (18:37.40) while Barbourville’s Corey Payne followed in sixth place with a time of 18:50.40.
Jackson County was led by Malachi Shannon, who placed seventh with a time of 18:52.96.
