Yellow Jackets come up short on the road, fall to Perry Central, 48-20

HAZARD — Jerry Herron’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets took the long trip to a hazard to face-off against Perry Central, and came up short, falling to the Commodores, 48-20.

“We came out on them and played well for three quarters,” Herron said. “We lost our composure and the game got away. We played a good team tonight. They’ve beat some good teams. We just let our emotions get the best of us tonight.”

The Yellow Jackets (5-4) hung tough, and led 20-15, before Perry Central began to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Williamsburg will now shift its focus to next week’s Class A playoffs opponent, Hazard.

The Yellow Jackets will host the Bulldogs (1-9), which will mark the ninth time the two teams will meet in the playoffs since 2004.
