LEXINGTON — The 13th Region was well represented during Saturday’s 2023 KHSAA Class 2A Girls’ State Cross Country Meet.
The Harlan County Lady Black Bears finished a state runner-up with 102 points while Corbin finished third with 124 points.
Clay County turned in a 24th place effort (611 points) while Bell County finished 25th with 711 points.
The Lady Black Bears had six runners finish in the top 50 as Peyton Lunsford finished eighth overall (20:06.62.).
The Lady Redhounds cross country team placed four runners in the top 50, as Emma Massengill led Corbin with a ninth place finish (20:17.34).
Julia Collins Les Clay County with a 115th place effort (24:55.14) while Kaelyn Lyrock finished 125th overall (25:19.61) to lead Bell County.
Knox Central’s Kaylee Mills turned in a 60th place effort (23:08.41) while Whitley County’s Sophy Jones placed 99th overall with a time of 24:29.69.
