North Laurel High school fishing team dominates multiple fall fishing trails

LONDON — Competing against talented teams from across the region, North Laurel High School fishing team showcased their exceptional fishing abilities throughout the multiple team trails throughout the state. 

The team fished Major League Fishing Team trail, KBN (Kentucky Bass Nation) East, and the SAF (Student Angler Federation) team trail. 

“The North Laurel High School fishing team’s victory is a testament to their dedication and hard work,” North Laurel coach Nathan Stewart said. “Countless hours spent honing their fishing techniques, studying the waters, and understanding the habits of the fish paid off in a big way.

“As the team celebrates this remarkable achievement, the fishing team’s success goes beyond the accolades,” he added. “It instills a sense of pride and inspiration in their school and community. It encourages other students to pursue their passions and take pride in their unique talents. The North Laurel High School fishing team’s fall season victory is a story of dedication, skill, and teamwork coming together to achieve greatness. Congratulations to the NLHS fishing team for their outstanding performance.”

Notable finishes include:

• Brayden Howard and JoeClay Durham finished 1st at Paintsville Lake and Laurel Lake in the SAF team trail. 

• Blaine Smith and Meguire Day finished 3rd at the MLF team trail at Herrington.

• Colton Stewart and Ayden Harris finished 3rd in the MLF Team trail at Lake Cumberland followed by fellow team members Wesley Oliver and Camden Craig in fourth.
