HORSE CAVE — Dudley Hilton’s Bell County Bobcats will be playing for the Class 3A championship after defeating Hart County, 30-28, on Friday.
The Bobcats (13-1) received another stellar effort from senior Mr. Football candidate Daniel Thomas.
After breaking two state records last week, Thomas broke another one Friday, surpassing former Boone County star Shaun Alexander’s 50 rushing touchdowns in a season. He now has 53 rushing touchdowns after reaching paydirt four times against Hart County on Friday.
Bell County fell behind 13-6 before taking a 14-13 lead at halftime.
The Bobcats continued to dominate during the game’s final 24 minutes to wrap-up the Class 3A semi-state win.
Thomas had touchdown runs of one, 10, one, and six yards for Bell County.
