MANCHESTER — Greg Parrott’s Jackson County Generals started the season off on a high note, handing Leslie County a 78-61 loss during Tuesday’s OBI Mountaineer Classic.
Jackson County (1-0) used a 24-4 run in the first quarter to take control of the game, and never looked back.
The Generals led 42-23 at halftime, and 62-43 entering the fourth quarter.
Keagan Ward led Jackson County with 26 points while hitting a 3-pointer in the win. Tydus Summers followed with 19 points while knocking down a game-high four 3-pointers. He hit three of those in the third quarter.
Peyton Singleton also scored in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
