Middlesboro uses 16-2 fourth quarter run to pull away and defeat Lynn Camp

MIDDLESBORO — A long road trip led to Lynn Camp’s first loss of the season, as Middlesboro’s Keevie Betts scored 20 points to lead the Lady Yellow Jackets to a 47-30 win.
Middlesboro used a 16-2 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.
“Tonight’s game started out slow for both sides,” Lynn Camp coach Joshua Mosley said. “We struggled to make shots throughout the whole game. We also struggled to box out and rebound which hurt us badly on second chance points for them tonight.”
A slow start kept the Lady Wildcats from putting much together in the first half. Lynn Camp tallied only two fields goals and trailed 19-12 entering the third quarter.
Mobley’s squad picked things up offensively in the second half, but couldn’t pull off the comeback win.
“I am proud of our resiliency after halftime as we came out on defense creating pressure and forcing which lead to some easy buckets for us,” he said. “We pushed to a lead of one in the third quarter, and then foul trouble hit us hard as we lost our aggression on defense and also lacked any ball pressure late.”
Sayde Mobley led Lynn Camp with 13 points while Madison Weymers added seven points.
“We will have to get back to work and focus some more on boxing out and rebounding,” Mobley said. “We will also have to continue to work on defensive rotations. We will get back to practice and prepare for our first home game this Friday night at home against Whitley County. I hope Wildcat Nation comes out to support us.”
