PINEVILLE — Sawyer Thompson scored 21 points to lead Pineville to its first win of the season.
The Mountain Lions (1-1) built a 29-16 lead in the first quarter and never looked back during their 72-39 win.
Sam Caldwell also scored in double figures for Pineville, finishing with 12 points while Logunn Littles added 11 points, and Wyatt Caldwell drained three 3-pointers and finished with nine points. Ashton Moser added eight points in the win.
The Mountain Lions held a 38-24 edge at halftime before outscoring Cumberland Gap, 34-15, during the second half.
