L4 Security 13th Region Media Network Volleyball Top 10: Corbin remains No. 1, Whitley, North & Bell not far behind

1. Corbin (0-0)
The defending 13th Region champions open their season Monday at home against North Laurel.

2. Whitley County (0-0)
The Lady Colonels are ready to show they’re good enough to make a run at the 13th Region championship. They open their season Tuesday at home against North Laurel.

3. North Laurel (5-2)
The Lady Jaguars already have seven games under their belts while posting a 3-2 mark in this past weekend’s McCreary Central Invitational. They’ll be tested this week with games against both Corbin and Whitley County.

4. Bell County (2-0)
The Lady Bobcats are unbeaten so far, and might very well possess the best player in the region in Gracie Jo Wilder. Wilder’s stats the first two games — 33 kills, nine aces, and nine digs.

5. South Laurel (1-0)
The Lady Cardinals opened the season with a 2-1 win over McCreary Central. South Laurel has a tough stretch of games coming up against Wayne County, Whitley County, and North Laurel.

6. Knox Central (2-0)
The Lady Panthers have been a pleasant surprise, cruising to easy victories over both Clay County, and Barbourville.

7. Williamsburg (1-1)
The Lady Yellow Jackets continue to improve under coach Dirk Berta. Williamsburg has a balanced attack with Hannah Creekmore (13 kills), Loreiei Coleman (11 kills), Abigail Stephens (10 kills), Grace Abbott (10 kills).

8. Jackson County (1-5)
The Lady Generals have struggled to an early 1-5 mark after posting a 1-3 record in this past weekend’s McCreary Central Invitational.

9. Pineville (0-2)
The Lady Mountain Lions might be 0-2 but you can tell they’ve gotten better each game. I like the direction Pineville is going.

10. Barbourville (0-2)
The Lady Tigers will be getting over the hump soon with matchups against Harlan County, Clay County, and Lynn Camp.
