Harlan County showed why it’s one the top-ranked team in the 13th Region, and state after holding on to defeat Ashland Blazer on Saturday, 80-70.
“Good early test for our team tonight,” Harlan County coach Kyle Jones said. “I was proud of our defensive effort. They are a very difficult team to defend, both in transition and the half court. Good win, a lot of positives, but we still have a lot we can clean-up on both ends.”
Senior Trent Noah turned in another stellar effort, scoring 36 points while pulling down 15 rebounds. Maddox Hiff added 20 points while Jaycee Carter finished with 11 points.
The Tom Cats’ Zander Carter led all scorers with 39 points.
