Brad Levy’s Pineville Mountain Lions have been dealing with some sicknesses this week but still managed to come away with an 83-36 win over Red Bird on Thursday.
Led by Ashton Moser’s 34 points, the Mountain Lions Lions cruised to an easy 48-point win to improve to 3-1 while the Cardinals fell to 0-4.
“We have been battling some sickness this week and we had some guys step up and produce tonight which was good experience for them especially our younger guys,” Levy said. “We started out a little slow early but I was really glad to see us pick up our defensive intensity and create turnovers for us to get out and run in transition.”
Kaiden Robbins added 14 points in the win while Sawyer Thompson finished with 10 points.
“We feel we can be a pretty good defensive team when we are locked in and focused on that end,” Levy said. “Our defense won us the game at Scott County over the weekend and it carried us tonight as well.”
