STREAK IS OVER: North Laurel snaps Corbin’s 49-game win streak against 13th Region teams with three-set shutout

The streak is over.

After winning 49 consecutive games against regional opponents, Corbin saw its streak come to an end, falling to red-hot North Laurel at home Monday in three sets, 25-13, 25-15, 25-20.

The Lady Jaguars (5-2) took control of the match early and never looked back, giving the Lady Redhounds their first loss to a 13th Region team since Oct. 12, 2017.

North Laurel cruised to a first set win of 25-13 while picking up a 25-15 victory in the second set. The Lady Jaguars out the match away with a 25-20 victory.

North Laurel also snapped Its 14-game losing skid to Corbin during the process. The last time the Lady Jaguars defeated the Lady Redhounds was way back on Sept. 16  2016. North Laurel has only beaten Corbin five times since 2009.

The Lady Jaguars will be back in action Tuesday at home against Whitley County while the Lady Redhounds will travel to play Williamsburg Thursday.
