Lady Cardinals fall to 3-3 after 85-61 loss to Franklin County

RICHMOND — South Laurel saw its record fall to 3-3 after dropping an 84-61 decision to Franklin County.

The Lady Cardinals were coming off an impressive road win against Southwestern just the day before, but couldn’t get things going consistently on Saturday.

“Well we got off to a bad start and just tried to survive to halftime,” South Laurel coach Chris Souder said. “We came out in third and played really well. Got the lead down to eight several times, and heading into the fourth we were down 11. Ae then started the fourth like we did the game.

“We told the kids these games will serve us well later on,” he added. “We have several more of these tough games so we will continue to work and figure out how to improve. We have great kids who want to be great.”
