Bell County outlasts Knox Central, 82-70, in battle of 13th Region teams 

Bell County and Knox Central hooked up in a 13th Region battle with the Bobcats remaining unbeaten at 4-0 thanks to an 82-70 win over the Panthers.

Blake Burnett led Bell County with while Cameron Hall added 21 points. Ethan Buell, and Jaxon Thomas also scored in double figures, finishing with 18 and 10 points, respectively.

Gavin Chadwell led Knox Central with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks while Austin Bargo scored a team-best 22 points and finished with three rebounds. Grayson Burton scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds while eighth grader Hayden Melton finished with five points and three boards. 

“Great game by both teams,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “I think we got little fatigued in the fourth. We were down 42-41 at the half, and down 64-58 at the end of three.

“We battled and played a good game just couldn’t pull out a win,” he added. “I’m very pleased with where my team is five games into the season. Two losses against top six teams in the region, and we were right in both those games. Our bench kids came in and gave us great minutes. It’s a process and we are making huge strides.”
