CORBIN — Harlan County handed Lynn Camp its seventh straight loss with a 57-24 win on the road Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats (1-7) entered the game with hopes of improving on offense, but turned in a season-low 24 points while finishing with only nine field goals.
“We started out slow offensively tonight, and we didn’t execute the defensive game plan throughout the game either,” Lynn Canp coach Joshua Mobley said. “At times, our defensive weak side rotations on the boards were way too slow which hurt us as well. We did create some scoring opportunities that were good looks in the game, but we have to find a way to finish at a much higher efficiency.
“We struggled tremendously tonight taking care of the ball against them not only in the full court, but in the half court as well,” he added. “We will have to continue to strive to improve the rebounding, defensive rotations, offensive execution, and taking care of the ball with better decision making. Then we got to be locked in and focused for the next contest we play.”
Harlan County (2-4) hit three 3-pointers in the first quarter and outscored Lynn Camp 20-7 to take a 13-point edge entering the second quarter.
Ella Karst scored nine of her game-high 17 points in the second quarter to help push the Lady Black Bears’ lead to 38-13 at halftime.
Harlan County continued to pull away from the Lady Wildcats in the third quarter, outscoring them, 12-7, before putting the game out of reach in the fourth quarter.
Nine players scored in the win for the Lady Black Bears while Paige Phillips added nine points, and Cheyenne Rymer finished with eight points.
Madison Weymers turned in a 14-point scoring effort for Lynn Camp while Julie Moore added six points.
