Bobcats improve to 5-0, hand Lynn Camp, 68-31, loss

CORBIN — Bell County remained perfect, improving to 5-0 after upending Lynn Camp, 68-31, on Tuesday.

The Wildcats fell to 2-5 with the loss, and also lost the services of Ian Agosto, who suffered an injury during the game.

The Bobcats were led in scoring by Cameron Hall’s 15 points while Blake Burnett finished with 13 points while hitting four 3-pointers. Braxton Furguson added nine points while Ethan Buell finished with eight points.

Lynn Camp was also without Tate Mills, who was sick, and Bell County took full advantage, jumping out to a 20-6 lead in the first half while never looking back.

“We came out against a top team in the region and they showed us where we needed to be to be able to compete,” Lynn Camp coach Tyler Wagner said. “I love the fact that we didn’t hang our heads and we didn’t just quit on ourselves. We have to be able to not accept being the under dog. We need to start looking at every game focused on what we need to do and not worried about the other team. If we can do that and keep making strides and keep going on an upward climb every game. We can start competing, but if we don’t do that we will see what happened to us tonight happen every night.”

Zach Thorpe led Lynn Camp with nine points while Caleb Wilburn added eight points.

“I’m super proud of Ethan Burd’s effort tonight,” Wagner said. “That kid has made huge strides in changing his attitude. Ian Agosto played as hard as he could until he went down in the third quarter. We just need to regroup and we need some people to step up and be ready when called upon.”
