Harlan senior Kyler McLendon scored 43 points while hitting five 3-pointers, and finishing 14-of-17 from the free-throw line to lead the Green Dragons to a 76-63 win over Middlesboro.
The win is Harlan’s first do the season as the Green Dragons improved to 1-3 overall, and 1-0 against 52nd District foes.
Jared Moore also scored in double figures for Harlan, finishing with 13 points.
The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 3-2 overall and 0-1 against district opposition.
Jerimah Beck led Middlesboro with 14 points, Cayden Grigsby added 13 points while Trey King finished with 12 points.
