Cardinals suffer 66-64 overtime loss to Bardstown

GREENSBURG — After starting the season with three wins, South Laurel has now lost two games in a row after suffering a 66-64 overtime setback to Bardstown on Saturday.

The Cardinals (3-2) started the game slow, falling behind 16-7 in the first quarter before taking a 34-27 lead at halftime thanks to a 27-11 run that was powered by 11 points by Jordan Mabe while Colton Rawlings added 10 points.

South Laurel extended its lead to eight points (47-39) entering the fourth quarter, but Bardstown caught fire, and outscored the Cardinals, 17-9, to force overtime.

Bardstown outscored South Laurel, 10-8, in overtime to secure the win.

Mabe led the Cardinals with 31 points while Rawlings added 17 points, Josh Steele scored 13 points, and Jordan Steele scored three points.
